TABLE envisions a community where all children have equitable access to nutritious food and knowledge in order to experience optimal health, well-being, and dignity. They deliver healthy nonperishables and fresh produce directly to the doorsteps of children across Orange County, NC every week. They began serving 12 elementary school children in 2008 and have grown to 1,100 children, ages 0-20. TABLE has also been providing valuable nutrition education to local children since 2010. By encouraging children to try new foods and providing them with the opportunities to test out new recipes or learn basic cooking techniques, they seek to equip children with the tools necessary to make educated choices when it comes to food and nutrition so they can live healthy lives.
